Here you'll find an overview of our Connect subscription service, and a guide on how to subscribe.

Connect gives you access to unlimited cloud storage and sync, note-taking in the mobile and desktop apps, up to three years of extra protection for your device with a reMarkable Protection Plan.

With a Connect subscription, you also have the option to manage and pay for multiple users. The users invited to your subscription will get access to all features and benefits included with Connect. 

If you previously had Connect for Business, your functionality remains the same— but as part of a Connect subscription.

Connect subscription details

All new reMarkable users get a 100-day free Connect trial. You can redeem your free trial within 30 days after creating a reMarkable account. After the trial ends, you can keep your subscription and its benefits for $2.99/month or $29.90/year.

You can also subscribe to Connect directly at my.remarkable.com if you already own a device, bought one second hand, or would like to upgrade to Connect after purchasing.

Keep your notes safe and always accessible

With Connect, your notes will always be stored safely in the cloud and instantly accessible from your other smart devices in our apps. Without Connect, only files used and synced online in the last 50 days will continue to be stored in the cloud and update in our apps. 

Once you’ve set up the reMarkable desktop or mobile apps, all your notebooks and documents, and ebooks will automatically sync across your other smart devices when connected to Wi-Fi. That means you’ll always have access to them wherever you are.

Write, create, and edit in the apps

Build a workflow that works for you with Connect, which gives you full access to the power of our mobile and desktop apps. Capture a thought on your phone, develop it in detail on your paper tablet, and finish it on your computer.

reMarkable Protection Plan

Our protection plan gives Connect subscribers extra peace of mind with their paper tablet. So, if you experience defects with your reMarkable paper tablet that aren’t caused by accidental damage or similar external factors, we’ll replace it for free. The plan covers devices up to three years old. Providing additional coverage and triple the length of the standard limited warranty we offer.

How do I subscribe?

This guide: How to activate your Connect subscription will help you activate your 100-day free Connect trial.
If you’re having trouble activating your Connect subscription, please contact support for help.

When you’re setting up your reMarkable, you’ll be able to pair your device with the cloud and activate your free Connect trial by entering your payment details at my.remarkable.com.

After your trial, Connect will automatically renew on a monthly basis or until you cancel. You can also choose annual billing instead at my.remarkable.com.
 
You can also subscribe to Connect directly at my.remarkable.com if you already own a device, bought one second hand, or would like to upgrade to Connect after purchasing.

Managing multiple Connect subscriptions

You can invite users to your Connect subscription. Members get access to unlimited cloud storage, automatic sync, note-taking in the mobile and desktop apps, and the reMarkable Protection Plan. To add users, enable user management on my.remarkable.com.

**2.99/month per user. Annual subscribers will switch to monthly payment if enabling this feature.

Using Connect as an owner

Invite members to your Connect subscription

You can invite members to join your Connect subscription by email, Here's how:

  1. Go to my.remarkable.com and log in or create an account.
  2. Go to the Subscription page in the menu in the upper-left corner.
  3. In the section "Invite users to your Connect subscription", click on ” "Enable this feature"

If you want to cancel an invitation you've sent, click the three-dot menu next to the invited member, then click Cancel invitation.

If the person you’re inviting is eligible for a free trial, they’ll start their trial when they join.

Remove members

If you remove members from your subscription, they’ll keep access to their files, but immediately lose access to all features and benefits. On the next billing date, you won't be charged for members you've removed from your subscription.

How to remove a user:

  1. Click the Users tab.
  2. Click the three-dot menu next to the member you want to remove and click Remove user.  

Members who had a free trial before they joined Connect for business won’t be able to resume their trial if they’re removed from your subscription. 

Pricing and payment information

Go to the Payment tab to see your payment history, billing information, and change your payment card. Here you'll also find your next billing date and the amount you'll be charged. You'll be charged on the same day each month as when you signed up for Connect.

Change payment card

To change the payment card for your subscription, go to the Payment tab and click Change payment card. Enter your card information and click Confirm changes

Cancel your subscription

If you cancel your subscription, members will keep access to their files, but immediately lose access to all features and benefits.

How to cancel your subscription:

  1. Click the subscription tab.
  2. Click Cancel subscription

 

Assign owner access

You can assign owner access to other users. They’ll then be able to edit the payment method, view billing information, see receipts, manage users, assign or remove owner access, and cancel the subscription. You won’t lose your owner access by assigning it to other users.

Using Connect as a user manager

As a user manager, you can invite and remove members, and see all members and pending invitations. 

Here’s how to assign the user manager role:

  1. Go to the members overview.
  2. Select the three-dot menu next to the member you would like to give this role.
  3. Select Make user manager
  4. Click Assign access
Using Connect as a member

As a member of a Connect subscription, you get access to unlimited cloud storage, automatic sync, note-taking in the mobile and desktop apps, and the reMarkable Protection Plan. 

 

Joining a Connect subscription

If you’ve been invited to a Connect subscription, simply click the link in the invitation email to join. After you’ve accepted your invitation, you'll get access to the included features.

Once you’ve joined a Connect subscription, you can manage your membership from the Subscription page on my.remarkable.com.

 

Payment

When you join Connect, your subscription fees will be covered by the account owner, and you won't need to make any payments.

If you've previously subscribed to Connect, you can find your receipts by clicking the Payment tab.   

 

Leaving the Connect subscription

If you leave a Connect subscription, you’ll lose access to unlimited cloud storage and sync, mobile and desktop note-taking, and the reMarkable Protection Plan. 

How to leave your subscription:

  1. Click the Subscription tab.
  2. Click Leave subscription, then Leave subscription.
Using your reMarkable without a subscription

You don’t need a subscription to enjoy better thinking with a reMarkable paper tablet. Your reMarkable comes with a wide array of features to help you work and focus, such as IntegrationsHandwriting conversionScreen Share, and Send by email

Without Connect, you’ll have limited access to our cloud storage service through our mobile and desktop apps. Your notes will always be stored locally on your paper tablet, but only files used and synced online in the last 50 days will continue to be stored in the cloud and update in our apps. To enjoy seamless note-taking and automatic storage and sync, get Connect.

Frequently asked questions

When I invite new users to my subscription, can I access their files?

No, notes or documents are not shared when new members join your subscription. All files remain private. If a member leaves your subscription, they’ll keep access to their files.

When will I be charged?

You'll be charged on the same day each month as when you signed up for Connect.

Do you offer device management?

Device management isn’t currently available, but this is something we’re working on.

I already have Connect. What happens to my current subscription?

If you accept the invitation, the account owner will pay for your subscription. You’ll still have access to all benefits and features that come with a Connect subscription.

What happens if I have a free Connect trial?

You’ll keep your free trial if you join Connect. Once your trial ends, the account owner will pay for your subscription. If you leave Connect, your free trial can't be resumed. 

If you're eligible for a free trial, it will be started when you join.

What happens to my files if I join Connect?

No changes are made to your files. When you join Connect, you’ll keep control of all your notes and documents. Notes are stored safely in the cloud and are instantly accessible in our apps.

My paper tablet is paired with a personal account. How do I join Connect without losing my documents?

You don’t need to re-pair your device with a new account to join a subscription, just change the email address associated with your existing account. On my.remarkable.com, click Account in the menu in the upper-left corner. Under Contact details, change your email to the one invited to Connect.
