Factors Influencing Battery Performance
The battery life of your reMarkable device is influenced by several key factors:
- Charging Habits: To optimize battery longevity, it's recommended to keep the charge level between 20% and 80%.
- Usage: A single charge can last for up to two weeks. This estimate is based on approximately one hour of daily use for reading and note-taking, with occasional Wi-Fi use for file transfers.
- Synchronization and Wi-Fi: Frequent use of Wi-Fi for synchronization can reduce battery life.
reMarkable Paper Pro Battery Specifications
The reMarkable Paper Pro features a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery with the following specifications:
- Capacity: 5,030 mAh at 4V
- Battery life: Up to two weeks of usage and 90 days in standby mode
- Charging: A full charge from 0% to 90% takes approximately 90 minutes.
While the Paper Pro has a similar battery life to the reMarkable 2, its unique features, such as the reading light, can affect performance. The two-week estimate for battery life does not include the use of the reading light. From software version 3.19, an extra brightness setting can be enabled in Settings → General → Display.

Charger recommendations
Use a wall charger that is 5-15W (does not exceed 5V and 3A*), or charge the reMarkable via the USB port of a working computer, which is always a safe option.
*These values are usually printed on the charger and labeled as “V” (voltage) and “A” (current).
You can charge your paper tablet using the included USB cable or any USB-C cable and power adapter that meet standard USB charging requirements. We recommend using chargers that comply with the USB-IF Battery Charging Specification (Rev. 1.2 or later).
