Limited 1-year warranty for all Product purchases

All reMarkable-branded products (“Products”) come with a one (1) year limited warranty, starting on the day that the end-user purchaser made the original retail purchase (the “Limited Warranty”). During this time, reMarkable is responsible for any defects related to material or workmanship, as long as the product is used in accordance with our published user guidelines and safety information.

The Limited Warranty is a voluntary warranty that provides benefits in addition to, and not instead of, rights provided by consumer law. Nothing in this clause shall be construed to exclude, limit or suspend other mandatory rights you may have under applicable local law. You have the right to choose whether to claim service under the Limited Warranty or under their consumer law rights. The terms and conditions for the Limited Warranty does not apply to claims made under applicable consumer law.

What’s not covered by our warranty policy

Unfortunately, accidents can happen, and our warranty policy is limited to faults and issues within our control as a company and manufacturer. Therefore, our warranty doesn't cover Products that have:

  1. been subject to damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, fire, liquid contact, earthquake or other external causes,
  2. been maltreated or used in a manner not compatible with the instructions in the User Guide or reasonable normal care,
  3. defects caused by wear and tear,
  4. cosmetic damage, including but not limited to scratches, dents and broken plastic on ports, unless the damage prevents ordinary use of the product,
  5. damages to consumable parts, such as marker tips or protective coatings, which have been designed to diminish over time,
  6. been modified, altered or adapted without reMarkable’s prior written consent,
  7. been used with third party equipment and/or software not provided nor approved by reMarkable, to the extent the problem is attributable to such use,
  8. limited internet accessibility or other software issues due to restrictions in the region where the Product is used,
  9. had the serial number removed or defaced from the Product, or
  10. damages or defects that are caused by a repair performed by an unauthorized third party.

In addition to the above, our warranty policy does not cover errors or defects that can be attributed to your use of developer mode.

The Limited Warranty is extended to and applied to all accessories developed and sold by reMarkable on www.remarkable.com, excluding marker tips and cables.

reMarkable reserves the right to reject any warranty claim from persons failing to provide valid proof of purchase from reMarkable or an authorized reseller.

When must a warranty claim be made?

Warranty claims must be made no later than one year from the date of the original retail purchase of the Product(s) by the end-customer, whether the purchase was made via online retail or in a physical store. If the product was bought second-hand, the warranty period started on the date that the original owner purchased the product.

How to return a product under warranty

How we will handle a warranty claim

Upon receipt of a warranty claim, reMarkable will revert with further information regarding the process for determining whether the defect is covered by the limited warranty.

If the defect is covered by the limited warranty, reMarkable may offer either a repair or a replacement, depending on the nature of the defect and other relevant circumstances. The repair or replacement will happen at no cost to the customer. Refurbished Products may be used as replacements.

reMarkable warrants that the repairs will be performed in a competent manner and that all parts used to repair or replace your product will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 90 days.

reMarkable may also decide to offer a partial or full refund for the defective products.

What to do if your product isn’t covered by warranty

If your product isn’t within its warranty period, or suffered accidental damage, then we do offer a trade-in program for a replacement device. You’ll get the option to purchase a newly-refurbished reMarkable for a reduced price when you return your device to us.

Please note that this offer only applies if you're replacing your reMarkable paper tablet. It does not apply to premium accessories such as Type Folio or Marker Plus.

If you have questions about purchasing a replacement device, please visit our returns portal or contact our customer service for assistance.

Local laws and regulations may apply for customers that want to return their device for a refund. If you want to return your device based on consumer rights in your country, please contact our support team here.
