Notebooks and folders offer a safe and structured home for your notes and documents. See how you can create, delete and duplicate notebooks and folders to organize your files.

Creating new foldersFolders help you organize your notebooks, PDFs, and ebooks on your reMarkable. You can create your own file structure with folders and subfolders under My files in whichever way suits you best.Step by step guide
Create a new folder from My files by tapping the new folder icon.
Add content to a folder by long-pressing a notebook, PDF, or ebook, then tapping Move and choosing the intended folder. Confirm the action by tapping Move here.
Note that when one of your folders has content the folder icon changes from white to black.
In this example "Work" is empty, and "Summer 19" has notes or files inside.
Renaming files or folders
Long-press the file or folder you want to rename.
Tap Rename .
Use the on-screen keyboard to write your new file/folder name.
Tap Save to save the changes. If you want to discard your changes, just tap Cancel.

Long-press on the file or folder you want to delete.
Tap Delete in the action bar at the top of the display.
If you want to restore your file, go to Menu, then Trash. Long-press on the file and tap Restore.
How to delete a page in a notebook or quick sheet
Tap page overview in the toolbar.
Long-press the page you want to delete. If you want to delete more pages, tap to select them.
Tap Delete, and confirm by tapping Delete again.
How to add a page in a notebook or quick sheet
Tap page overview in the toolbar.
To add a new page, tap new page in the lower-right corner.
You can also add a page by swiping left and tapping new page when you’re on the last page, or by tapping document settings, and then Add page.
How to add note pages to PDFs and ebooks
You can add, delete, duplicate, and move blank note pages within PDFs and EPUB files.
Any added pages will become part of the PDF or EPUB they’ve been added to, but can also be moved around the document, or out to other notebooks, just like regular notebook pages.
To add a blank note page directly after the page you’re currently reading:
Tap document settings in the toolbar.
Tap New note page
To add a blank note page somewhere else in the document:
Tap page overview in the toolbar.
Long-press a page, then tap new page in the lower-right corner. The new page will be added after the page you selected.
To delete, move, or duplicate a note page, tap page overview, long-press the page, and select your preferred option in the action bar at the top of the display. Pages that were part of the original PDF or EPUB can’t be moved to other documents.
Move files and pages
Keep yourself organized by moving your notebooks, ebooks, and PDFs into folders. You can also move note pages within notebooks, EPUBs or PDFs.
How to move a file
Long-press on the item you want to move.
Tap Move on the top action bar.
Choose your destination folder.
Tap Move here to confirm the action.
Tapping Move in a notebook will allow you to either move pages within that notebook, or from one notebook to another. In PDFs or ebooks, you can move note pages within the document or into an existing notebook.
How to move a note page in a notebook, PDF or ebook
Open your document.
Tap Page overview.
Select Move in the top-right menu.
Tap on the area you want to move the page to.
Tap either Place before or Place after at the top of your screen.
How to move a note page from a notebook, PDF or ebook to another document
Open your document.
Tap Page overview.
Select Move in the top-right menu.
Select Move out in the top-right menu.
Select an existing notebook or tap New notebook.
You can move note pages between notebooks, PDFs and ebooks.
Duplicate content and pages
Files (notebooks, PDFs, and ebooks) can be duplicated without any changes being made to the original file.

How to duplicate a file
Long-press on the file you want to copy.
Tap Duplicate in the top menu
The new file will be named with the ending “copy”.
How to duplicate a page in a notebook
Tap the notebook options icon, then Page overview.
Tap Duplicate in the top action bar. An exact copy will appear immediately after the page you chose in the notebook.
Notebooks
Notebooks are a place to take notes, draw, and sketch. Access pens, markers, and other writing tools in your notebooks by tapping the toolbar.
You can easily add pages, rename, and move notebooks into folders. View all your notebooks in My files by tapping Menu in the upper-left corner, Filters, and then Notebooks.
Managing your notebooks
Add a new notebook by tapping the plus icon in the menu at the top of the display when you’re in My Files or a folder.
Add pages by swiping right when you’re on the last page in your notebook. You can also add a page by tapping page overview in the toolbar, then Add page . New pages are automatically added to the end of your notebooks, unless you add them in page overview.
View all pages in a notebook by tapping page overview in the toolbar. Go back to the page you were viewing by tapping Back, or tap a page to open it.
Make it easier to browse through your content by setting a cover page for your notebooks. You can either choose the first or last used page of your document as the cover.
Setting a cover page for your notebook
Tap the notebook button in the toolbar.
Tap Notebook settings .
Tap Last page visited or First page. Here you can also rename your notebook.
Tap Save to set the cover page.
Archive your files
Connect subscribers can free up space on their paper tablet by archiving large or unused files. Ebooks and PDFs normally take up the most room, but can be safely stored online. Access and open archived items in our apps anytime, and retrieve them to your device if you need. Please note that your paper tablet needs to be connected to Wi-Fi to retrieve archived files.
Here's how to archive one or more files:
Go to My Files on your reMarkable paper tablet and find the file you want to archive.
Long press on the file to select it and open the toolbar. You can then tap on additional files to add them to your selection
