Release 3.18

We’ve cleaned up the toolbar, by moving some of the tools to Document settings, and you can now find reMarkable Methods in your template overview. Additionally, we have improved the security of the reMarkable 2, and added auto-rotate to the reMarkable Paper Pro.

We have also added the Document Scanner feature to the reMarkable mobile apps for Android and iOS, allowing you to scan and import physical books and documents using your phone's camera.

Released March 2025.

Release 3.17

Introducing reMarkable Methods for all Connect customers. Our new portal for easy-to-import templates, planners, workbooks and techniques for better thinking directly to your paper tablet. A space to connect your ideas to better outcomes, discover more at methods.remarkable.com.

Thanks to the new shapes feature, you can now draw perfect circles, boxes, and triangles every time, without a ruler, just by holding at the end of the stroke. See which color you’re using for each writing tool directly in the toolbar, and in My files, you can duplicate a PDF document with and without edits.

Released January 2025.

Release 3.16

When you feel inspired reading an ebook or document, create a note page and add any of our templates. Organize your thoughts in dots, grids, lines, or the more creative styles.

We’ve improved the contrast filter for a better color reading experience on reMarkable Paper Pro. It adapts to the content in your PDFs — increasing the legibility of text and the nuances in images, and improving color reproduction.

Tagged pages will now show up when you search for them.

Released December 2024.

Release 3.15

A new pen in your pencil case, great for adding depth to sketches.

Your passcode can now be either four, six, or eight digits.

Use the selection tool to draw a line, hold, and select all the handwritten notes below it.

Released October 2024.

Release 3.14

Options for column width and updates to how to use your Marker make it easy to work with typed text across devices.

Choose how much space you want in your text margins.

Select text by holding your Marker on a word and dragging it.

Released August 2024.

Release 3.13

Now you can keep any two writing tools (and your desired settings for each) right in the toolbar.

Quickly swap between trusty favorites while working.

It’s now smoother to set up a new paper tablet for the first time.

When your device is starting, sleeping, or loading, you’ll be able to spot our new fonts and logo.

Released July 2024.

Release 3.12

In your office, you can reach for the spine of a book, find what you’re looking for with a quick glance, and scribble down what’s on your mind. We want to make it as easy to search, manage, and record ideas on reMarkable.

We’ve given My files a modern look and feel, so you can create a new quick sheet, notebook, or folder, more efficiently. The overview is less cluttered, so you can work without distractions.

Find new shortcuts at the top of the display: A control center accessible via the battery symbol, and a shortcut back home in the reMarkable logo.

Released June 2024.

Release 3.11

The selection tool just became a lot more useful, especially when switching between using a Marker and keyboard.

Selecting typed text works a little differently to outlining handwritten notes and sketches. Draw a line through text to select it  — whether it’s single words or whole sections — then move it up and down the page, cut or copy it, or change the style.

Make a single word bold, or change the order of your paragraphs, with a flick of the pen.

Released April 2024.

Release 3.10

This update is all about enhancing efficiency and lightening the load.

Free up space on your paper tablet by archiving large or unused files, to make the most of the unlimited cloud storage offered with a Connect subscription. Long-press to archive items online, and tap to retrieve them to My files.

Sorting your search results will help you quickly refine them, and there are new keyboard shortcuts for Type Folio. We’ve added the ability to convert handwritten notes to text in the desktop app.

We’ve also updated the terms of our End User License Agreement.

Released March 2024.

Release 3.9

Focus on the task at hand, with better palm rejection in left-handed mode. In this release, we’ve improved the technology that recognizes when you’re leaning on the display or pressing the close button, so lefties can stay in the flow.

We added a new serif font for typed headings, designed to make content stand out.

In Settings, we’ve tidied up so you can update all language and keyboard preferences and find your account details in the same place, and see what’s toggled on or off.

Released December 2023.

Release 3.8

Straightening hand-drawn lines opens up a world of possibilities for creative processes and ideation, whether it’s with symmetrical tables or a simple border.

Read more about using straight lines on your reMarkable

Stay on top of your to-do list with checkboxes that strike through each task once it's completed. The improved eraser now removes content more accurately.

Released November 2023.

Release 3.7

When working with words, accuracy matters. So, in this update, we’ve made it possible to convert, select, and edit notes with greater precision.

Use the selection tool to outline and change specific handwritten words or sentences into typed text, not a whole page. Selection handles mean you can now pick the typed sections you wish to edit, cut, or format without using multiple taps.

Type Folio owners can also use keyboard shortcuts to navigate within menus and to select items.

Released October 2023.

Release 3.6

We've introduced new ways to get to know your paper tablet, with tips for discovering the tools at your own pace, and a simple “Getting started” tour.
Thanks to some system improvements, exporting files and editing text is smoother than it was. In a recent release, we also improved the many ways you can sort your content in My files.

In addition, we've improved the mobile app and fixed a bug in the Windows desktop app that made some users unable to import and view PDFs.

Released August 2023.

Release 3.5

Creativity and productivity go hand in hand on reMarkable. In this update, we’ve added more freedom to make your content stand out, whether it’s handwritten or typed. You’ll now find all the pen styles in one place.

Cut and paste typed notes, and they’ll keep their original formatting. Long pages are easier to scroll, and Light sleep is back by popular demand.

Released July 2023.

Release 3.4

We’re constantly developing our software to make reMarkable easier to use. In this update, we’ve improved the PDF reading experience with a more precise custom view, and added new ways to search and view your results to help you find what you’re looking for.

We made sync automatic so that you can work smoothly across your other devices. The smart highlighter is optional, too, and can be turned off if you don’t want it to snap to the text.

Released May 2023.

Release 3.3

With the launch of Type Folio, our slim, focused keyboard for reMarkable 2, we’re updating our software to support handwriting and typing. Giving you the best note-taking experience — however you like to work.

In this release, we’ve added bold and italic formatting to typed text. Giving you more options when typing up notes on your reMarkable or in our apps.

A zoom indicator now shows the current level of magnification in a page or document, and can take you back to the default view with a single tap.

Declutter your outbox by clearing out all recent email recipients, and use links in PDF documents while working on mobile and desktop.

Released April 2023.

Release 3.2

This release coincides with the launch of mobile note-taking. Now, Connect subscribers can use our mobile and desktop apps to tap into the distraction-free qualities of paper on the go. We’ve also added several new features and polished many of the changes introduced in 3.0.

You can now select, cut, copy, and paste typed text using touch gestures.

We’ve reintroduced sending
converted handwritten notes or typed text as the body of an email.

We also improved pinch to zoom to make navigating continuous pages smoother, and added options for quick sheets so that they’re easier to organize. And you can also personalize your sleep screen by adding your contact info.

Released February 2023.

Release 3.0
