Importing files
Use our desktop or mobile apps to transfer documents and ebooks to your device or organize your existing files and folders. Once imported, your files will be synced across your connected devices.
reMarkable works best with our custom-built apps for iPhone, Android, PC, and Mac. However, if you can't access our apps, then you can also import using your web browser at my.remarkable.com.
reMarkable 1 and 2 are compatible with PDFs and EPUB files when using our apps for transfer, and with PDF, EPUB, JPG, and PNG file formats when using your web browser (up to 100MB in size).

Syncing files
Once imported, your files will be synced across all devices (in the mobile and desktop app, and My files menu of your reMarkable when it's connected to Wi-Fi). There's a progress bar that monitors sync progress and a 'Check sync' option that's available through the Settings > Storage menu.

A progress bar will appear while your files are being synced or exported. You will also see a cloud connection status icon.
Check sync
In the event of a sync issue when backing up your files, there's an option to force them to update. A 'Check sync' option in the settings menu will help diagnose any sync issues you may be experiencing.
