Swipe gestures
In this article, you’ll find an overview of all the gestures you can use to navigate the files and folders and notebooks on your reMarkable paper tablet. Navigate within your documents, hop between menus, and quickly access the files you need by swiping.
Navigating in a document
When working in your notebooks, PDFs, or ebooks, you can use gestures to quickly browse between pages, turn them individually or add a new one, and zoom in and out.
Swipe down
Swipe down from the top of the screen to close your notes, PDFs, or ebooks. Simply drag your finger downwards from the top, towards the middle of the screen.
Swipe left and right
Swipe left to go to the next page, or to add a new page if you’re on the last page of your notebook.
Swipe right to go to the previous page. When browsing inside a folder, you can now swipe to the right to go back a step, or home to My files.
Pinch to zoom
Use two fingers to zoom in on the part of the page you want to see. Once you’ve zoomed in, you can easily move around the magnified area. Just hold two fingers on the display and move them together in the same direction to pan around the page after zooming in.

Swipe to scroll
Swipe with one finger to scroll down and find the file or document you’re looking for once you have a lot of different content on your device. You can use this swipe gesture to navigate through files stored in your folders, or in the My files main menu.
